New Mahila Lok exists because a woman should not need five shops to buy five things in the same month. We built the store we kept wishing for.
A store built around how women actually shop
Most women we spoke to described the same week. Jewellery from one shop on a Saturday, cosmetics from another the following week, a handbag ordered online, and a pack of hair clips picked up in a hurry on the way home. The time cost was never the real problem — the real problem was not knowing whether any of it was any good.
So we did the slow part first. We built relationships with makers in Jaipur, Kolkata, Chennai and Delhi, checked every piece ourselves, and priced everything from what we actually paid. Then we put it all in one clean, well-organised place — where a woman can compare, read honest reviews, and order in three taps or send the whole thing to us on WhatsApp at midnight.
